LA and Spring Break

Brady speaking w Jeff web.jpgRecently, Jeff, Mickey and I went out to Los Angeles to speak at the LA District NYI Convention. It is also called Student Leadership Summit. Students from all over the LA District were there who were basically leaders in their youth groups. We talked about discipleship of course, and the way in which it helped us in knowing how to develop and tell God’s story through our lives. Also, Jeff and I led a workshop on what we do in our discipleship group. It was good to share with other students how God is helping us to grow and mature in Him through the No Limits Discipleship materials and mentoring. If you’d ever want us to come and speak at your church or event, let Mickey know in his journal pages or email us at nolimitsdisciple@sbcglobal.net.

Soon after our trip to California, there was . . . Spring Break!

Spring break is so nice! To get away from school and go to my favorite place in the world with all my friends is just what I needed!

Silver Cliff 1 web.jpgYou guessed it, I went skiing in the Rocky Mountains with my youth group. It was such an amazing time to enjoy the Colorado weather and all the snow that had just arrived. Skiing is on the top 5 list of my favorite things to do. I bought skis this year, so I was even more stoked to use those for the first time. The weather was a gift from God and the two feet of powder made it even better. Even though the ski lifts are never fun, it was the best time to enjoy the view of God's creation and how magnificent the mountains really are to look at from that viewpoint. It was also a good time to talk to the people riding with me and get to know some other people I haven’t talked to very much.

Each day us seniors gave a short devotional for the day. I had Wednesday morning and felt that things went pretty good. It was good to hear from the other seniors about what God was teaching them in some way.

The only bad thing about the trip was the 12 to13 hour bus trip to get there and back! Even though I was with friends, it's just so hard to get comfortable in such cramped seats.

Brady crash in snow web.jpgThere is one thing that happened that was pretty sweet in one way but bad in another. So... I tried to do a flip off of a snow cliff that was about 20 feet at the highest point. I survived and everyone thought I was crazy! My youth pastor got it on tape but wouldn’t show anyone because he thought it was too reckless to promote. So I was kinda mad at first. Actually really mad, but I was tired so it made it worse. But then, after talking with Mickey and others about it, I realized that I had put my youth pastor in a bad situation when he was trying to do the right thing. I'm not mad anymore. I got to see it and it was amazing! Maybe we should put it on this web site for you to watch, too!

Keep in touch with some comments. Tell me what’s happening in your life.

later days
Brady
